Hello everyone in Dogsterland! It's been a very long time since my siblings and I wrote so I got voted to update everyone on our life now.

We got a new sister a couple of years ago. Mom didn't put her on here yet but she is a cute little Phantom Poodle. Her name is Jazzy. She is a little love bug.

One of our horse brothers, Phantom, went over the Rainbow Bridge. Mom misses him a lot but she still has her Bentley.

We got a new cat sister named Katy. She was living with a lady who moved away and just left her. Poor Katy was all alone in the apartmeht for two weeks and had run out of food and water. She only has one eye and it is almost totally blind. She is the sweetest little kitty we have.

The HUGE news though, is that we don't live in Bakersfield any more. We don't even live in California. We moved to a place called Arkansas. The people here talk different, but we like it.

We live in a house in the country so we don't get into trouble for barking anymore and it's so quiet and far from town that we've only heard one siren in the last two months. No more howling ten times a day.

Since we got here we got three more cat siblings. One boy, named Louie and two sisters, Little Hope and Sissy. Louie was causing trouble at his home and they didn't want him anymore so we took him in. Little Hope and Sissy were dumped at our church. It is out in the country and Mom went and fed them for a couple of weeks but was worried something bad would happen to them because the local farmer's dog kept coming and chasing them up a tree. They were so little they couldn't climb down. Mom brought them home one Sunday. They play outside most of the day but Mom puts them in a big cage at night so the wildlife doesn't get them. When it's too cold she brings them in to the bathroom with their bed and food. She would like to keep them inside but nine cats would be too many and sister Sierra would start peeing around the house again. They are happy though. Sometimes Sissy roams to far from the house and Mommy has to go shake the treat can and she will come running. They brought mommy a few gifts to thank her for saving them. Lizards, frogs, a rat and a mole.

Since we've been here I turned 14. My years of jogging with Mom and running the trails with her and Phantom have caught up with me. I have arthritis and have a tough time walking withoug a limp and sometimes Mom helps me get up, but I'm in good health and I get medicine for the arthritis. My Mom loves me so much.

Well, Dogsters. Sorry it's been so long. We will try to do better at keeping things updated.

Guess what. Mom brought home a tiny little kitty. YEAH! I want to give it love sooooo bad but she won't let me yet. She says it is still too little for me. She has to feed it with a baby bottle and help it go to the bathroom. Wow! Anyway, we aren't sure if we can keep it or not. Right now several people are trying to just get the babies through the nursing stage. Let's cross our fingers!

My other cats are really mad at Mom right now. Nala hisses at her and won't let her come near even when the kitten is in another room. What a schitzo! Doesn't she know it is just like she was?

I will ask mom to put a picture of her here and on Catster so you can see her.

Yeah for me!

Hi Dogsters! It's been a while. Mom is adding some pictures today. I hope you enjoy them. I had fun taking them.

Mom took Barney and me to visit Grandma a couple of weeks ago and it snowed. We had so much fun. Mom took us up the highway to play in it because it melted off of the yard quickly. It was great. The best part was that it snowed all night before we left so we got to play in the yard at home before we left. Mom bought us the great coats that kept us very warm and dry because we are not used to the cold and snow. We don't have that at home.

We have a new brother. (I thought there was no room at the inn?) His name is Sebastian. He likes to eat chicken too! That's why he came to us. His owner said she couldn't have a dog that killed chickens. He ate hers and the neighbors. I told him not to think he was going to get away with that here either. Mom would not be pleased!

Today Mom had to go to work. I like it when she works on Saturday. Nobody is there so she takes Barney and me with her. We just hang out in the office while she does what she does. A whole day with Mom. How great!

Mom and Dad are talking about going to the pound to adopt another cat. I hope it's a nice one. I love the nice kitties. They kind of want an adult cat because nobody else takes them but I'm pulling for a kitten to love. I'll let you know what happens.

Well, dogsters I've gotta go now.

Yeah! Today Barney and I got to go trail riding with Mom! We haven't gone in a long time because Mom is always too worried about the coyotes. Today she put us in the back of the truck and Phantom in the trailer and off we went to Lake Ming. We had so much fun running and swimming. Mom stopped in the shade for a few minutes and gave us a cookie. It was the best cookie I ever had (I was starving because I wouldn't eat breakfast).

We got in a bad spot in the river and couldn't get out. Barney was scared but I told him not to worry, Mom and Phantom would help us and they did. After that we weren't allowed run ahead to go into the river unless Mom looked at the current and bank first. She found us a good spot to walk around in on a sand bar. Crazy Barney lays down up to his neck and sticks his head in to drink.

I am sure tired. It was hot so we didn't stay out too long. Mom didn't want us to get sick in the sun.

What a great day!

Hi Dogsterland! So much is happening lately. We got another new sister. Her name is Foxie and she is a very tiny chihuahua. Mom caught her at work. She had been running around for a couple of weeks and had a bite from something bigger than her. Mom finally caught her and brought her home. She got shots and spayed and has made herself at home. Her favorite playmates are Otis and Barney. You should see them. She thinks she is as big as Barney and acts like it.

Not long after Foxie came mom had an operation in her head. The doctors found something called an aneurysm. It wasn't popped yet but was quite large. If it would have we wouldn't have our mom anymore. She was able to get it fixed without even getting her head cut open. Yep; they just went from her leg up into her brain.

Now my mom is home with us for a few weeks. She was supposed to be able to go to work in a week but she is having bad headaches. I don't like it when Mom doesn't feel good. She doesn't want to go outside and play or anything. I hope she gets to feeling better soon.

We are just so happy that Mom is going to be fine.

Mom had her 40th birthday this week. She hasn't been very excited about it so she decided that she would go celebrate in Lake Tahoe by going hiking again. I like the way mom celebrates because it ususally includes me!

We went to a place called Emerald Bay and hiked up the mountain above it to a lovely little lake. I wish we could have gone further but we weren't prepared for an overnighter, just for the day.

We went with our aunt this time. It was nice having her along for the company since we aren't very good at conversation with mom and when she talks to us people stare at her.

Can't wait to go again. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

Howdy folks! This weekend Mom took Barney and me on a trip. We got to go see Grandma up in the mountains again. It was a lot different than the last time I was there. THis time no snow.

Mom wanted me to show Barney the ropes of traveling so I was in charge. I showed him all around the big back yard and all of the great trees. I took him hiking up a mountain to the top of a great big waterfall where we could see Lake Tahoe. He did pretty good but I will have to work on his mountain climbing skills with him. He does not have a big jump like I do so we had to help him up the rocks a lot. What a great day out. We met so many nice people.

Mom put a bed in the back of the truck and took us all over the hills to different orchards where we got to go buy goodies and pick fruit. We were on our very best behavior and everyone stopped to pet us.

We even managed to stretch a 5 hour drive home into over 8. Mom likes to stop and read historical markers and visit old historical towns to shop. We even went to a gold mine. Mom took a one hour tour and a nice lady who worked there let us hang around with her at her work station for a little while so we didn't have to wait outside the whole time even though Mom took us to the shade and gave us a bowl of water and chew bones. What great people!

Have I ever said how much I love traveling with Mom? I LOVE IT! Mom's talking about taking another hiking trip again soon before the snow comes. How great is that?! Even if the snow comes it will be great because I love playing in it.

Signing off for now.

We still have Barney. I think he's here to stay unless someone exceptionally wonderful comes along. Mom has taught him how to sit and down and we have even gone to the stable together. He follows me around like a big brother ought to.

Now, on to Otis. Mom and dad were loading their things into the car to go on vacation and what should appear but this little bitty black and white dog. Well, mom couldn't just let him stay on the street to get run over so she put an ad in the paper and left him with us and the sitter. It's hard to believe but nobody called or appears to even be looking for him. I sure am glad my mom really loves us because she would have cancelled vacation to find us. We will keep looking in the paper just in case his parents are out of town too.

The last time I wrote mom was having a hard time because our sister, Jillian, had crossed the bridge. Well, a couple of weeks later Mom brought this puppy home from work because she felt sorry for him. Of course, she assured us all (including Dad) that he was just temporary and that she would find him a home. Well here we are, nearly 2 months later, and we still have that puppy in our yard. He started answering to Puppy pretty quickly so we finally started calling him Barney after about 2 weeks. Barney has now had all of his shots and just got "fixed". I wonder if this means he's not a foster brother any more?

Mom has made sure that I don't feel replaced and she is taking me for walks and to the stable. And of course I get to sleep next to her on the bed. I guess I could start to like Barney if he would just quit licking and nipping at my snout.

I'll let you know how it goes with Barney and whether he gets a great home or stays with us.

Jillian wasn't feeling well so when mom took me to get my feet checked again we took Jillian in as well. Well, the doctor felt something in her stomach and took a picture and saw something growing there. Mom took her in to have it removed and they found major cancer growing all over inside of her.

Hi everyone! I took another trip with Mom. We went to Grandma's and Great Grandma's house again. This time we didn't stay in a hotel. I got to run around in the yard and in snowed all weekend!

That was the greatest fun! I've never seen snow in all my 7 years. By the time we left on Monday there was nearly a foot on the ground. I made sure to run around and get it all messed up. Mom took more video of me in the snow than some people take of their kids.

Great Grandma is 91 years old and her kitty is around 90 (really around 13). We visited them and really enjoyed ourselves. I have a picture of us having a conversation here on my page. She especially likes it because I love her kitty. I shared my food with him.

My brothers and Jillian went to the pet resort and had a great time. I get to go this weekend while Mom takes Jillian somewhere. I got to go for a little while to meet everyone. Mom is worried that I will be unhappy about being left there. From what Woody and Marino tell me I will have too much fun to worry about being left.

I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Whew, what a weekend! Mom took me, just me, to Lake Tahoe with her. We visited Grandma and Great Grandma and also our Aunt in a town called Placerville.

We got to stay in a motel again. This one had a patio that overlooked the woods. You wouldn't believe how good it smelled there. I've never seen so many stars. I've been to Grandma's house before, but we always stayed there. Now she has a neighbor who isn't very nice to other dogs (No dog park for him) so we stayed somewhere else. It was lovely.

We walked all around Placerville on Saturday and I was allowed in every store (except food stores) and got petted by almost everyone who saw me. They said I was so well behaved they would rather have me in the antique shop that some humans. I had just been to the hair salon so I was looking mighty fine, if I do say so myself.

Sunday we went hiking near Lake Tahoe. We could actually see it from a point on the trail. We hiked a long way and then I got to swim in a lake called Aloha. What cold water! I was so thirsty that I didn't mind though. My mom packed me a little lunch and a water bowl for the trip, but I was too excited to use the bowl and didn't even want to eat. On the way back we took a boat ride across another lake. That was pretty neat! There was actually another Standard Poodle lady on the same trail. We were quite the couple. People couldn't get over the poodles in the mountains. Don't they know that we are bred for hunting? We are water dogs with webbed feet and everything.

Mom drove home through California's gold country (Hwy 49) and we stopped at all of the little historic towns and shopped. We even had lunch and ice cream in Sutter Creek. What a wonderful weekend. I think my brothers and sisters are a little jealous, but Mom said she would take them sometime too. (P.S. That's Mom in the red. She hates the picture of her, but I snuck it in so you could see who loves all of us so much.)

Well, this is Wednesday and yesterday was a very sad day for us all. Our very old friend, Ernie the horse, died and Mom cried and cried. I've seen this before with Sampson and Charlie, but it doesn't get easier to watch. Mom was prepared for it because he was 37 years old, but she still wasn't ready. All I could do is sit by her quietly. He did go as mom had hoped, by just going to sleep on earth and running over the rainbow bridge in the morning. We were glad for that. I'm sure that all of our family members were there waiting to show him to the beautiful green pastures and he's already running and bucking like a young stallion again.

Happy Trails Ernie. Until we meet again.

Hey! We got to go to a dog park where we weren't the only dogs for a change. It was sooo much fun! I was very excited and yapping to get in the gate. As soon as we got there about 20 other dogs came to the gate to say hello. We just ran like banshees all over the place. It was great! Nobody was grouchy or bossy, just having a ball.

I haven't been getting out like that lately. It's been so hot and the coyotes at the stable so brave that I haven't had any off leash time in weeks. I sure miss that! I hope we get to go again soon. Mom says she will make sure we get to go again soon.

You shoulda seen Jillian run. She acted like a racer instead of a blob out there. Some of the guys flirted with her but she's just not interested in hooking up. Probably because her brothers were all there watching out for her.

I thought my mom left me for a minute. She walked across the field and I saw someone on the outside of the fence that I thought was her. Boy was I panicking for a second. My mom saw the look on my face and called for me. When I heard her voice I ran like the wind looking everywhere until I saw her. What a relief! Of course, I know she would NEVER leave me behind and not come back so I don't know what I was so worried about.

Boy am I beat! THink I'll go to bed.

Well, I took that trip with Mom and Jillian. We sure had fun. Jillian kept telling me there was more to the world than poodles. I can't believe how many greyhounds were there. They were all so nice to me though. I got to be an honorary greyhound at the picnic. I even got a goody bag.

There were people selling all kinds of dog treats and clothes. I got a new collar and Jillian got a feathered, flowered hat, a greyhound jacket and a collar. We even bought some presents for Woody and Marino so they wouldn't feel left out.

We looked lovely in our new clothes. I wore my cowboy hat and new collar
and Jillian had on her new fancy hat and cowgirl bandana

We stayed in a very nice hotel that treated us like royalty and even gave us a dog treat when we checked in. Mom took us out to dinner and ate with us on the patio of a restaurant.

I love traveling with Mom. I could get used to the hotel stuff and getting to go everywhere mom goes.

We stopped at fruit stands and ate peanutes and played with little kids. I even snuck a peek at a buffalo at the zoo. Of course, I did get a little excited over a giant chicken (Mom called it a peacock). Don't worry, I don't eat chicken anymore.

Well, I've got to go. Jillian says it's her turn to write. What a beautiful weekend!

Jillian and I will be going on a trip with Mom for a couple of days. It is supposed to be a greyhound picnic, but I thought the two girls would need someone to protect them so I'm going too. We are going to stay in a hotel and everything.

Marino is going to be very jealous and Woody will be very dissapointed about not going, but Mom said she couldn't fit everyone in her car (a new Mustang!).

Now, I've been on a LOT of trips with mom but they are usually at someone's house or camping where we get to hike in the mountains or go to the beach. We must be moving up in the world. We're going to the groomer's and everything 2 weeks ahead of schedule!

Can't wait to tell you all about it when we get back. Maybe I'll get myself a sleek, athletic girlfriend. They can't all be as lazy as Jillian.
