Arrival Story: We found Cap through the site KIJIJI a place for re-homing dogs. The family had two Labs and two small children and were finding it difficult to handle all of them with both working full time. They'd had the dogs first, and both had been intensely trained. The other Lab had already found a home. Caporal was trained in French and luckily we were bilingual because he only could understand French when he arrived. He had just turned four when we got him. He fit into the family immediately. He bonded with Blackie who only understood English, but being dogs, they didn't let language seperate them. He obeys commands beautifully! He chased cats at first, but only because he wanted to play, he wouldn't harm a fly. They've all come to an understanding now and he'll even snuggle with one or two of them. Cap loves playing in snow, a true snowdog! Which is why he has a snowflacky background. It suits him!
Bio: Cap seems to like Woman bestest. It must be the vamp in him because he sure can vamp! He loves putting his big head on your lap and giving you that big cow eyed look while raising his eyebrows. He's great with children and very protective. He'll be 5 years old on February 23rd and hopefully he'll enjoy many more birthdays with us.

Well darn that movie "Marley & Me"! After we watched it and saw Marley with his front paws out the window and his back end inside the car Mom made me sit in the backseat on our drive today with the windows closed! She put the air flow on and I tried hard to sniff that, but gosh, it's just not the same! I decided to try to make her feel guilty so we drove the whole 45 minutes with my head on her shoulder and me making sad noises.
You knows..I've never been a bad dog, and I would never do what Marley did. Please someone talk to her? This new behavior has got to stop!
We saw 3 or 4 formations of Canada Geese flying over the house today, they 'bark' louder then I do. The Grackles are back and for some reason Mom didn't mind me chasing them, they really hogged the bird feeder. She was all excited because the Red-Winged blackbirds are back too, they didn't come much to the feeders (probably because the Grackles were hogging it!), but you could hear then singing all day.
Catch ya later Dudes..time for a nap (to dream about my head out the car window no doubt!)
Well I think I like it, my snowbanks are melting quickly and there isn't much left 'clean' to munch on. (I eat the clean stuff like a snow cone, bestest stuff in the world, better then that spring water Mom gives me! I like to bite things that bite back woof!) The field near us still has some snow left, but I'm sure those frozen ruts will soon be mud and Mom will be washing my feet before I can come inside again. I don't much like that, but I let her do it.
I chased a Pileated woodpecker that was going up our back tree, and NO I didn't catch him, I was only chasing. Mom was a little miffed at me, she really likes him and the those wild turkeys I chase. Honestly, I wouldn't catch them or hurt them, so why can't I just scare them? I don't understand.
We've been wrestling the keyboard away from those pesky Siamese Brothers and sister. I thought Blue would be bad, but that Terra is something else! She hissed at me! Can you imagine that? Such language, Mom should wash that girl's mouth out with soap!
Anyhow, I'm off to check on my groups to see if anything is happening this evening. Catch you later Dudes!!
