Arrival Story:
It was Fall, and I was sixteen years old. My dad decided that it was time to adopt a new dog. It meant a lot to me, because I really loved animals. My father said that his favorite dog was the German Shepherd dog, because of their intelligence. We found a breeder in a nearby town who had a bunch of puppies. I saw the mother in a pen, watching her babies anxiously from a distance, and I felt sad for her. I chose the smallest one in the litter, a little boy, and we brought him home. I've spoken a little about my home in some of my other dogs' stories. Mickey was one of the ones left behind. I really loved him. He had gentle, loving eyes, and with me, he was as submissive as a puppy. He trusted me. The once fiercely protective dog asked me to protect him in those last days. He remains in my heart. I hope his soul is at peace now.
