Favorite Toy: LEGOS, and he's very good at catching bugs- even in midair! He also likes to destuff Loofa dogs
Favorite Food: Nature's Variety raw, Orijen, BG buffalo, chicken, cheese, peanut butter.
Favorite Walk: The Clear Creek trail and trails at Bandix dog park
Best Tricks: No tricks, but he loves to kick and burrow in blankets and he can spin.
Arrival Story: Our little humans love our big dogs but want a dog they can walk!
We saw that some Chihuahuas were available at a shelter about an hour away, and we soon learned the dogs had been part of a raid where 76 animals were seized. We went to visit the 8 Chi's left and Cocobear was by far the most outgoing and sweet!
Bio: Cocobear does not back down from big dogs, but he was very scared of his new huge brothers and sisters. For the first 12 hours he was here, he hid under our deck and we were very worried he may escape. Niko and Fling guarded him from any raccoons or coyotes all night, and we awoke to some angy, hungry barking early his first full day here! Coco was adopted mainly for the kids, and he knows it!
He loves all three of them- tucks them in at night and runs to wake them in the morning. He also loves to chew up any small toys they forget to clean up, but the kids are never mad at him. He is the perfect addition to our family!

The Last Forum I Posted In: Is Orijen Senior ok for a small dog to eat?
You know, sometimes we just take things for granted- like going for a walk. I was rescued from a hoarder who kept me locked in a crate in my own urine and feces. I never got to go for walks, but I have sure made up for it since I got to my furever home. My brofur Levi used to love to go for walks, but since he was paralyzed, his bad leg drags and his nails bleed. So he gets to walk only on trails where there's no cement. Roper loves every second of exercise he gets after being kenneled so much as a young dog.
Many of the dogs my mama knows have gone to the Bridge lately- not dogster dogs, but dogs she knows from work or as friends. Ivan the Rottie died of a jaw tumor, two Bostons died from declining health and old age, a Greyhound pal just died from bone cancer. Now we strongly believe that all of those dogs are in a better place and enjoying every second, but not with their humans. Humans sometimes complain about things like taking the dog for a walk, but we hope you'll remember what a blessing it is to have a friend who wants to do nothing more than spend time with YOU.
So get that leash and spend some quality time with your best bud :)

This will be fun! I love games, so here is how it works.... I tell you 7 things about myself and then tag 7 of my pals to do the same. Ready?
1.I have pretty much white on my face, but the vet still thinks I'm only about 4 or 5.
2. I am really part bear- I love to hibernate! I sleep under the bed and won't budge in the morning until absolutely necessary. Once I'm out, I usually stay out and play a while, though.
3. I love to just sit in the sun. Sunbathing is one of my favorite activities. Too bad I live in WA!!
4. I really don't care for any of the dogs in my family. And to tell them, I growl and show my teeth at them. I've even nipped them a few times- who says only herding dogs get to nip? I do like the cats and humans ;)
5. My favorite thing in the whole world is going on off leash forest hikes with my humans- a big dog always goes with me to protect me, but I love all the smells and being able to mark anything I want.
6. Despite being a hoarding rescue and living in a small dirty cage for so long, I've always been very neat and clean...and reliably housebroken. I never want to go back to the dirty way of life.
7. I am a Chihuahua- not a Pom- and I love to snuggle under blankies and get tummy rubs!

Levi has had the spotlight in our family, and for good reason. He is the enforcer of our family- he would lay down his life for my mama or our kiddos. But here's something you may not know, he also protects me....
This morning, mama took me and Levi to our favorite trail. Levi has been feeling like he's on house arrest, and mama wants his leg to stay strong and heal. When we got to the trail, I heard a strange yipping sound and LOTS of it. COYOTES! Then I heard some rustling in the bushes and mama was getting pretty nervous. Young, healthy Levi would have no problem- but older, injured Levi? Then we saw Roper's twin stumpy tail ACD run out of the bushes and head straight for me. He's chased me before and Roper did nothing. Levi ran right up to him and glared. That intruder cattle dog just slinked away- even with a cone on and a bum leg, my brudder Levi is a formidable guy. Thank you, Levi!
Oh, and we heard those coyotes (well, I did;)) for about 15 minutes but thankfully we never did find out what Levi'd have done if he saw them...
