Arrival Story:
After having to put to sleep my cat Smokey, who was my friend for 21 years, I decided it was time to give a new kitty a home. I have traveled to Norway several times and had seen Norwegian Forest Cats there. I was lucky enough to find a 5 month old NFC that needed a home. That was Smudge . . . and I fell in love with this wonderful kitty! He has a very special relationship with my dog Wesley. He just loves Wesley, follows him everywhere and will cry at the window when Wesley is outside and he can't be with him. I also adopted Smudges sister, Sissel They are the best of friends. Smudge is just the sweetest cat--somedays he acts awfully silly, like he is "one french fry short of a Happy Meal"--but he makes me laugh and I couldn't love him more.

We just got the best news--our neighbor and Catster member MABEL is home!! It seems that she ran down the street when she got out last Sunday and has been staying in the yard of a neighbor. The nice lady saw Mabel's picture in the paper today and called her mom (Janna) to let her know Mabel might be the stray cat she has been feeding all week. We are so happy that it was indeed her and she is in good health. Thank you to all our Catster friends who having been purring for Mabel---once again, the power of the "Catster Purr" has worked!

On a sad note, our next door neigbor and Catster member MABEL, is missing. She never goes outside, but escaped out the garage door accidently on Sunday. Even though her mom Janna knew almost immediately she was missing, despite an all out search, she has not been able to find her. Please keep her in your purrs for a safe return home soon. Janna is who takes care of us when Mom is on vacation and we know how worried she is.

First of all, we want to wish all of our Catster friends a Happy Thanksgiving!! We would love to send some rosettes out, but we are having trouble with the gift page completly loading!! Is anyone else having this problem? It has been going on for about 3 days now.
Oh yes, we did have some excitement around here the other night. First of all there was this loud noise coming out of this little round thing on the wall. Mom was asleep, but thank goodness this noise woke Mom up. And when she was awake, she found our house full of smoke!! She immediately grabbed Sissel and me and threw us in our cat carriers and carried us out to the garage. She then wisked our dogs, Wesley and Sunny, out to the car. THEN, she called 911!!! Soon there was a big fire engine coming down the street with sirens on and 5 men jumped out of it and ran into our house. It seems the fan in our heating system had overheated and almost caught the whole house on fire!! But these 5 men stopped the fire from causing any real damage and we will just have to buy a new furnace. Mom says she is sure glad she has smoke dectectors in the house and will make sure they are always working properly and she has our carriers close at hand and available for emergencies. Whew, I am sure glad she got us out of there so fast--but maybe next time she should call 911 first???
She justed wanted to make sure all of us were out safely . . .
