Arrival Story:
Chewy came into rescue with his daughter, Boo. He was a pampered family pet until a second child was on the way. At that time, the family decided it was too much to have two children and two dogs, so Boo and Chewy went to a high kill shelter. Both dogs were transported to rescue in PA and Boo was adopted within a week. Poor Chewy is confused, sad and missing Boo.

Bio:
A precious and loving Chewy is confused why his life is turned upside down at age 7. He won't let it keep him down though as seen in that wonderful, smiley pekey grin. We cannot overstate what a wonderful, sweet, gentle, well-mannered dog this little guy is. He is fine with other friendly dogs, hasn't shown more than interest in the resident kitties, is totally housetrained and walks well on a leash. Weighing only 17 lbs, he loves to share the bed with his foster mom, though is a bit of a snorer like most pekes are. Chewy has been known to have infrequent, mild seizures in the past. Although he does not require any medication, we would prefer to place him in a quieter home without young children. He is current on vaccinations and has had the works at the vet's: Heartworm tested, neutered, dental, complete bloodwork, rear dew claw removal and an umbilicial hernia repaired.
