After more than a week of suffering as his kidneys slowly shut down, we had our beautiful boy euthanized. He went peacefully, he just laid down and slipped away from us. It was hard on all of us, especially my nephew Anthony, who was 9. But we all take some solace in knowing that Shavano is no longer in pain, and he can now run free, without the pain of his hip displasia. He's buried under some pine trees in our yard, with a fitting grave marker. "Here Lies a Faithful Friend".

RIP Shavano, we miss you!
