Likes: Chewey ooey balls, steak, soccer balls (especially flat ones), water
Pet-Peeves: People touching my paws (but mommy is working with me)
Favorite Toy: Any ball that can be chewed like a big wad of bubble gum
Favorite Food: no fruits, ice cream!!
Favorite Walk: anywhere where I can retrieve stuff from the water
Best Tricks: I sit when asked wherever I am, I give paw (only after I sit), and I don't growl or freak when mommy or daddy grabs my paws... as much
Arrival Story: I was surrendered to the pound because my old owners couldn't afford to take me with them when they moved. Mommy and Daddy visited the pound up here in Marquette, and she saw me only a few days after I got to the pound, before I was even adoptable. She asked to see me in the outside pen, and I was just what she wanted! I was a bit excitable, but well, it was a new new situation and there were all those dogs barking! Daddy was a bit intimidated by my bark, he's not used to normal sized dogs like me (mommy and daddy always debate what a 'big' or 'normal' or 'small' dog is...).
I wasn''t officially ready to be adopted for another two days, so they came really early on that Thursday to make sure nobody else got there and adopted me first. When they took me home, I had a bit of an adjustment. The shelter gave Mommy and Daddy a paper filled out with my old owner about me. It said that I was 4 years old but born in 2006 (?), that I wasn't potty trained (that I'd go inside if I was 'acting out',) that my favorite toy was tennis shoes, that I had aggression problems with other males... Anyway, they let Kyle, my new brother into the pen with me the day they took me home to make sure that we wouldn't kill each other, and we just kind of said hi, and ignored each other mostly.
Once they got me home, I got to show them that I was just misunderstood or maybe had an owner who loved me but wasn't the best at caring for me... that I can indeed be trusted inside, and I don't even look at shoes of any kind... I like balls, especially the rubbery kind that I can chew like bubble gum.
Bio: I think I'm Shepherd of some sort, white or normal, but Mommy thinks that I have a more malamute body shape and muzzle... we're not sure what I am (perfect-of course!). Any suggestions?
Mommy thinks that I yodel some times, instead of barking, none of us are sure if this is a Shepherd thing or more sled-dog type thing.

I've Been On Dogster Since:
A few weeks ago, Mom and Dad and Kyle and me got home from a walk around the neighborhood in the snow.
Less than a minute after we got in the door, Dad noticed that I was leaving bloody paw prints, and he had to hold me down for Mom to look at it.
Turns out I somehow managed to snap the tip of my claw away from the quick. Mom had to use the evil green clipper on it, and then Dad helped her put a dressing on it. They wrapped it in snazzy purple sports wrap, and then made me wear my bootie on it (we call it a pawsie...).
It stopped bleeding fast, and I was allowed to take the bootie off for sleeping, and the dressing came off the next day.
Moral of the story is, I'd definitely reccomend having some 4x4 gauze pads, stretchy bandage wrap stuff, and sports wrap to go over it handy at all times! We have no clue how I managed to break my nail, nothing notable happened.
Oh, well, gotta go play with my ooey ball with Dad. Thanks for reading!

Mom has been determined to start a dog park group in the area since she moved up here from Tennessee. My brother says they're one of the BEST places on the planet, but I've never been to one. She's done a bit of research and is starting a group. She's calling it "Friends of UP Dog Parks" (so far, anyway), and she's put it on Facebook to try to get more people interested.
A few neighbors and friends are interested already, so if you're in the Marquette, MI area and interested, check the group out on face book or let her know here.
I wanna run free in a dog park, Kyle says it's super fun to run around like maniacs with his buddies and new friends. I hope she gets lots of help and gets a dog park soon!
Thanks for reading, I'll try to remind mom to type more soon.
Oh, p.s. be careful of your pawsies on old tennis courts, they really scuffed up mine and Kyle's and our friends paws when we hung out on the old one near by, but it was fun to run...
