Sloopy the Chihuahua Is a Dancing Machine

Wiggling his fine hips to Gloria Estefan's "Conga," Sloopy puts all our drunken wedding dancing to shame.

You know the expression: "Work like you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt. Dance like no one's watching. Sing like no one's listening."

The Chihuahua in this video embodies that to the fullest, unleashing a routine of dance moves that rivals anything on So You Think You Can Dance? Except we're totally watching. Sloopy really wants a piece of turkey on the counter and in order to earn his share, he rears up on his hind legs and wiggles his hips as if he's made of Jell-O. Along with some of Gloria Estefan's "Conga" (an undebatable dance classic), Sloopy shakes what his mama gave him -- namely his long, luxurious fur.

This reminds us of our cousin's wedding and the way (after a few drinks from the open bar) the older folks busted some dance moves we didn't even know were possible. It also reminds us when the DJ, after a string of tame hits, popped this classic on, and one of our quieter relatives revealed a gift of dance. Of course none of them were as elegant or as smooth as Sloopy here.

Someone give that dog a bone, an agent, and a starring role in some upcoming dog remake of Saturday Night Fever.
