Wildebeest creates the perfect present for new dog parents.21
When Helen met Raja, she decided he was going to be a part of everything, so Raja learned to travel for hours in an airline bag, bark in several foreign languages, tolerate just about any climate or elevation and never be grumpy with strangers. Keeping up her end of the bargain, Helen never leaves him behind when she travels, even if it means arguing him into high elevation Incan excavations or explaining that canoes with Shih Tzu dogs in them hardly ever capsize. Raja does his part by keeping calm and carrying on all the time.
Their book, The Journey of the Shih Tzu, pays tribute to this spunky breed and their blog, Travels with My Dog, shares adventures, canine health articles, events and fun. When not on the fly, Helen is a corporate trainer and language coach and Raja is master of his bi coastal domains.
Full Name: Helen Asquine Fazio
Location: We are usually on the move, but we call New Jersey and California home often.
Where You Can Find Me on the Internet: Travels with My Dog
What I Do for a Living: My company, HA Fazio Associates, provides customized training and coaching to corporations in writing styles, speaking skills and some languages.
What I Do for Fun: Travel with Raja, of course. But also we like to ski and hike, and we love museums and ruins and forests.
The Furry Members of My Household Are: Just Raja. Perhaps now and then, when we're away, there is a mouse.
My Favorite Things to Write About Are: Dog travel, health, news.
My Pet Peeves Are: I'm a little warm under the collar when TSA frisks Raja during the security check. I also think airports should have internal dog runs. Why must traveling pets be held to a higher bladder standard than traveling people?
My Guilty Pleasures Are: Potato chips, fashion, movies.
How I Deal with Cat/Dog Hair: Dog Hair is an honor, but I vacuum it up.
What I Want to Be When I Grow Up: Maybe when we grow up, Raja and I can live in a rain forest and protect the sloths.
