Why is my dog suddenly drooling a lot?

My 1 year old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, Brutus, suddenly started drooling a lot yesterday. He has never acted like this before. He is still drinking water and eating on a regular basis. Does anyone know what causes excessive drooling? Thanks!

Did he get into something he's not suppose to like poison, chemicals, or chew on some plants. I would take him to the vet. It could be serious.

Dieta

He could be sick. Usually they eat something bad with bacteria on it. Has he any smoked bones or bones laying around. Sometimes raw or cooked bones have potential harmful bacteria if they are improperly handled or left out too long.
Cooked smoked bones are bad and choking hazards.

♥ DEOGIE ♥

Deogie drools normally but when he has an upset tummy he tends to drool more.
If he isn't better soon, a vet visit should be in order.

Does he eat sticks? He could also have a splinter in his mouth somewhere. Look at his gums for any inflammation or increased redness.

Suzy

Brutus, did you ever find out the cause for this sudden drooling? Did it stop? My mini schnauzer started this behavior yesterday and I am taking her to the vet today because it's not normal behavior for her.
