Why is my 16yr old toy poodle afraid to go outside at my new apartment?
Besides my 16yr old toy poodle preferring to go potty inside instead of outside, she seems frightened when I take her to the grassy spot outside. We just moved to a new place and there is a neighbor with a dog that has to go to the same grassy spot I need to take my poodle to. However, they have never met. Could the neighbors dog be leaving threatening pee scents? She is so scared to go potty outside.

She is an elderly dog and they don't generally do change well. Moving to a new place can be traumatic on animals, especially older ones. Be patient with her. Are there any other possible spots for her to use? It may also help to introduce her to the other dog. The other may be marking because your dog's scent is new.
