Why does my mother Chihuahua only dig at our sheets in our bed heavily when she has a pup

My female never rutted before but now with her pup she rutts and rutts with blankets and our sheets the bottom sheet on our bed. What in nature does this mimick?

because the bed is "DIRTY/SMELLY" so wash your sheets please
