There are products that you can put in their food to make the poop taste bad, or certain foods that you can feed them that make it not so appetizing. It would be a good idea to consult with your vet for the best recommendation for a well balanced food as well as anything to add to it to make it taste bad at the other end. Good luck!

The first thing to suspect when you see this behavior is what kind of nutrients they might be missing from their food.

Dogs usually eat their on feces because they are eating food which is either poor quality or they have special nutritional needs that have not yet been diagnosed.

If it's the food (cheaper, supermarket food and even some pet store food) can be so rich in fat and protein that it goes through the dog quite fast. Without the optimal slow digestion, nutrients and minerals are not absorbed, and the dog is essentially still hungry. Add to that the feces comes out so quickly it is vitually the same smelling to the dog as the food he just ate and....viola! Poop eaters anonymous!

Start with upgrading your food to a brand like Wellness, Eagle Pack or Innova. Switch slowly to avoid gastric upset.

If you feed high quality food or if it continues, get a full check up from the vet to rule out any underlying medical issues.

Hope that helps!
