When to stop giving puppy treats for pottying outside?!?

I have a 3 month old Lab who is fairly well potty trained. He has accidents sometimes but knows to go to the door when he has to potty. Well, we are rewarding him with treats when he potties outside but now I'm wondering when is the right time to stop giving him a treat everytime he potties outside. I'm nervous he will be mad at us and not understand why we stopped. Please help?

Theres no reason you cant start alternating the reward right now. Labs yearn for praise - even puppies. A favorite toy, a romp outside, an exhuberent GOOD BOY with a pet will serve as treats also. One time give a food treat, the next time give an alternate. One day maybe do more free play. Its all about the actions you perform in the moment of giving the treat so that they know they did what you wanted. Love and play can be just as much a reward. My lab is nearly 13 and I STILL reward her when she comes in as I do with my Sheltie. Sometimes its just Good dog, others its a carrot or a toy and still others its a treat from the jar. Why stop rewarding the behavior I worked so hard to achieve?

If you want to cut back on the treats, maybe you would want to start by just giving a treat every other time. And just give him praise when he does his job. But I do not see a problem with giving treats I still give treats to my boys when they are good. Mine love the little treats even though they are big dogs.
