			<p>Childrens crib mattresses are normally pretty inexpensive, VERY comfy and usually waterproof and urine proof.  If not, you could cover it with one of those zip up plastic mattress bags, then pop a crib sheet over it.  Crib sheets are easily washed and again, fairly inexpensive at the discount box stores.<br /><br />

			<p>Understand, that the word &quot;Waterproof&quot; is a misnomer.  Only Synthetic materials are waterproof.

I'm not sure just why you would want to do this, since it limits the arability of the fabric to breathe, which animals count on for warmth, and actually to absorb water off of them, when they are wet.

But, just to make some sense of this, usually a product called &quot;ScotchGuard&quot;, will at least limit the absorbency of most materials.<br /><br />
