It doesn't matter on what breed, but the individual DOG.
Typically though, the breeds that DO NOT get along with cats are: Herding breeds (Collies, Shelties, Heelers, German Shepherds etc) Terriers (Jack Russells, Bull terriers, Fox terriers, Pit bulls, AmBulldogs)
Hunting breeds (Weimeraners, Coonhounds,) and other high energy breeds.
Breeds that tend to get along with other pets are:
Working breeds (Malamutes, Rottweilers,) Giant breeds (Wolfhounds, Mastiffs)
and companion dogs (Shih Tzu, Dalmation,) and other *calm* easy going breeds.
You can go here: animal.discovery.com
and take a quiz thing to choose the size, energy level, good with other pets, etc and it will list dogs that would be good for you and you can then look at the individual breeds that it lists.
Once you narrow it down to one or two breeds, try getting an adult dog so you can know its temperament, unless your willing to deal with a puppy and socializing it to cats.
Good luck!

Most dogs will learn to live with cats if you get a young puppy and introduce them early. THe cats might be a problem, though. Are they declawed? I had a cat that liked to bat at the dogs' faces and would have torn their cheeks to shreds if he had still had claws.

Miss Buddie

I have an ACD mix and a fox terrier that both get along great with my cat. It's more about training than it is about breed. Granted, some breeds have a stronger prey instinct and will be more of a challenge, but it can be done.

Miss Buddie was introduced to Oscar J. Cat as a puppy so it was pretty easy. Stevie Ray was two when we introduced him to Oscar. We had some chasing issues at first, but it was also a pretty smooth transition.

Make sure you introduce slowly, always supervise and make sure that the cats have a place to retreat where the dogs can't follow. Also, make sure that you watch the litter boxes. Dogs like to eat cat poop. Disgusting, but true.
