Heck yeah. A good rule of thumb: if something unusual is happening to one of your pets and you don't know what it is, take it to the vet ASAP.
Best of luck.
In agreement with all the PPs! A visit to the vet would be ideal! There are a host of different ailments that could cause this, from simple allergies to something serious like Lupus.
Any other recent changes? In appetite? Diet? BMs? Environment?
You Vet will be able to further assist you by making all the appropriate rule-outs for the condition.
Do you have any updates on your dog's condition?? Our 3 year old cockapoo seems to be experiencing the same thing. Wondering how you're treating it. We took her to the vet this week and she said she probably just burned herself on something. Doubtful- if she was burned or hurt in any way- wouldn't it bother her? She doesn't seem to be agitated by it at all - she lets us touch it without even blinking.
The vet did mention that there are auto-immune conditions that cause the nose to blister and piece off, but our dogs doesn't look that severe right now. She said to keep an eye on it.
We first only noticed it on one side of her nose. Last night, we noticed it's starting to peel away or break off on the other side a little...beginning to get concerned...
Thanks for any info you can provide...
