What do you think of the Top Paw pet safety harness as a seatbelt?

The top paw harness is a basic harness with a loop to hold the dog to the seatbelt. Is this a good harness style or is there something more effective?

We have one of these for Sketch, and we like it a lot. It's easily adjustable, and he can sit and lay down comfortably without getting caught up. We think it's a good design, and Sketch doesn't seem to dislike it!

I think that's a pretty good harness as a seat belt. Better a non-crash tested harness to secure the precious dog than no seat belt at all. I've tried on all the crash tested ones on the market and we go in and out of the car so much and they are SO bulky it is just not realistic to buy them. (And plus not even crash tested seatbelts guarantee a saved life..)

The only thing to note about that harness is until the D-ring is BEHIND the strap running around the chest, it's probably pulling more around the high shoulders/ neck than around the whole chest. Yes all the companies make the soft harnesses wrong!
So when I buy soft harnesses, I have a tailor or shoe maker cut the D ring, and move it backwards so it sits behind the chest strap and not in front of it to properly distribute the pressure.
Take a look at the cloud harness on goldpawseries.com to see what I mean about D-Ring placement!

Otherwise THANK YOU for taking that extra precaution and consideration strapping your pup in.
