It's definitely tough when you have dogs that would rather steal each others toys than play with their own! :) Kong toys are great, as are the jolly balls. A lot of dogs I know LOVE the Everlasting Treat Balls (my co-workers dogs will work on hers for 3 hour stretches). Pup Beads (www.petlane.com) are a great choice too. They remind me of Kong toys threaded together with rope. The dogs really have to work to get to their treats or kibble! ps. If you post a video of your Yorkie throwing the toys to himself, please let me know as I would love to see that! My dog is Jade in Pleasant Hill, CA.

I play with and love my softball size whiffle ball!!! I can grab ahold of it with my teeth and toss it around and I also like batting it around with my paws kinda like I'm playing soccer and just chase it all over the yard. Mommy says I've had my whiffle ball for over 7 months, its dirty and does have a few little scratces but thats its. Hey, I dont mind a little dirt if you dont :)

I second abby's vote for the jolly ball. My BC destroys toys like it is her job... So i got a jollyball and it has quickly become her favorite toy. Even after she chewed off the handle it is still a ball and she still plays with it constantly. I also got her the jolly ball on a rope and that is favorite toy (well after the rope had been untied). These get puncture marks and can even have the handle ripped off but they still stay ball-shaped. I also have given her cheap soccer balls to play with outside (she quickly deflates them but LOVES playing with the carcases). We have plenty of deflated balls in the yard that make great toys. I have also used the kong's "Wubba" toy.. the canvas type took a good couple months before she ripped the canvas apart...but the balls inside were really sturdy and have yet to be broken. check out www.jefferspet.com they have industrial strength toys (some even made for primates) that you might like! Have you tried the Jolly Ball? This is a toy originally designed for horses. It's a large plastic ball with a handle on it, and dogs LOVE it. You can order them online or you can get them at some of the better stocked feed / pet stores.

I love your edit!I like the dogs to be inside dogs but there is no reason dogs shouldn't be outside when the weather is good.My kids love to go out in the fresh morning air!So i leave the back door open for them so they can come and go when they want. Good toys the kongs are the best but I see that you have the same problem I do.If you haven't tried the black ones go for those and try the xtra-xtra large. If those still don't work then I use the Nylabones.They have different sizes and different textures as well as the strenght.Durable is what I use I belienve.You will be able to tell without taking them out of the package. Good luck and have fun with your kids this summer!

Are they outdoor dogs? I know this has nothing to do with your question, but unless there is a particular good reason, dogs should inside. Domesticated dogs weren't meant to live outdoors. Ever tried a tug rope?
