We picked up our 8 week old pup on7/1 he got violently ill on 7/4 was in intensive care for two days cost 1900$' now ok?
Tests were done, no parvovirus, no salmonella has this happened to anyone else? Our 4 month old pup was fine never got Sick. New pup is still on antibiotics.

Need more info on the symptoms the puppy was experiencing to guess on what the puppy has picked up. Was there any vomiting, diarrhea, signs of lethargy, refuse to eat or drink etc.

Sometimes the change in water, food and stress can make them get diarrhea and maybe vomiting. If he's on Metronidazole, then it was an inflammation of his intestinal tract. Sometimes they are very sensitive to food, including treats. Kali cannot deviate from her food at all. She will get violently ill. Also, did they test him for pancreatitis? That may have been the problem. If that's the case, then you really have to be careful with his diet. Good Luck with your new pup.

I had a very similar problem. My poor puppy ended up having coccidia, round worms, hook worms and a bacterial infection in her intestines. Once we got rid of all the infestation and infection she was fine! :)
