We have a 5 year old black lab that is acting strange.

He is an outdoor dog. We went on vacaction last week and he is acting bizarre since we have been home. He keeps trying to come in the house when we open the door, even though we are blocking the door and telling him no. He also is getting up on a wooden piece of furniture right outside the window and just stares at us. The piece of furniture is barely big enough for him, so we know it cannot be comfortable for him. He is not whining and does not appeared to be injured, but he is definitely not acting normal. We have owned him since he was a puppy and go on vacation every year. We have a nice yard for him to roam/run and a family member came every day to feed, water and sit with him a bit. What could be causing him to behave this way?

Something might have happened while you were away that scared your dog. Reassure your dog that you are back to stay. Is there any chance that your relative might have skipped feeding a day, so that your dog was fearful and hungry?
