Every shot carries a very small risk of a bad reaction. Odds strongly are, no. Vets give a series of shots hoping to hit the window between whne the immunity from the mother wears off and the puppy is exposed to something.

With out the time line for the shots who can tell. Puppies get vaccinated a lot at this young age!
Puppies get vaccinated at 8, 12, 16 weeks because the Vets can't tell when the immunity from mom wears off. Until the puppies are no longer getting support from mom, the vaccine does not work, mom overrides the shots. Studies have shown that only about 40 % of 8 weeks vaccines are effective, while a higher percent of 12 and 16 weeks vaccines work. However if the pups don't get the 8 week vaccine that 40% would be vulnerable to deadly illness.

By the time puppies are away from mom for a month or two the vaccine has a better chance as the pup has been weaned for quite a while.
