How long ago was she spayed? If it was within a week or so, then she probably is just feeling a bit under the weather. Or it could be that she is older and she is less tolerant of any upset. I have an older dog and she doesn't like any upset or nonsense. Most of us on Dogster think of our pups as our kids, so, please don't think we are all judging you. Good Luck!

I read the previous responses....they expressed concern for your dog, which is why you are asking for help - correct?
Not all Dogsters are knowledgable on all issues. And they certainly are not in your position, or know the laws in your area. I know if an old dog gets pyometra, spay is a solution.
As for her growling and snapping...What does your gut tell you. If you think she's in pain, you are probably correct. No one knows your dog better than you, so tell the Vet so if that's what it takes to be taken seriously.
At 12 I expect her recovery to take a bit longer, but pain can really hamper her recovery.
Hope she feels better soon.

Most dogsters answer due to their own experiences.
As for aggression issues maybe she's just very sore after her op and that's why, or maybe something went wrong, a 12 year old dog will take a lot longer to heal so give her time.
Hope she feels better soon
