Super mystery mutt - help us figure out what kind of sweet dog we have!

Hi everyone - Our sweet boy Jack is a mystery to us. He was a shelter dog, but just listed as "lab mixed" Everyone that we meet has a guess about what he is - usually all different! He is built a lot like our foxhound, just more muscular so we're wondering if he has some kind of hound in him - maybe Plott and lab mix? He loves retrieving things and swimming and is the most loyal dog we've ever had... Do you think he has any pit in him?

Please help us figure it out :-) Thanks so much for your help!

It might be time to try a Mars Wisdom Panel. The test is about $60.


I would guess Plott and Pit.

Jack looks like a Black Mouth Cur/American Pit Bull Terrier mix. Black Mouth Curs and American Pit Bull Terriers can both be brindle.

I also have a mystery mutt looks a little like yours I thought Mountain Cur Plott mix but now not sure yours could be either. My other dog Hope I'm sure is a Plott/Lab mix. My Tuck is 7 months and 60lbs.
