Should I shave the hair off of the ears of my standard poodle?
In my last question I talked about Samson, my 6 year old standard poodle with recurrent ear infections. Has anyone got a standard poodle or any other floppy eared dog with recurrent ear infections. I was thinking that maybe I should shave the hair off the top and back (making him look more like a hound). Has anyone done this specifically to prevent ear infections? I would keep the top knot and shave only his ears for better air circulation. (By the way, I have been grooming my standards for 6 years - so I know how to do this cut) I just wondered if anyone's dog was helped with better air circulation around the ears?
