Pumpkin or Sweet Potatoes?
My dog has had very loose stools for a while. I cannot remember which one hardens him up Pumpkin or Sweet Potatoes? The other will have the opposite effect. I think I know the answer but I just can't be sure.
Please do not answer unless you are 100% sure. I don't want my dog to get worse. Thanks.

I use canned pumpkin. No spices in it, just plain pumpkin.
I also mix in white rice and boiled chicken. On one feeding my dog is bound up later that day.
I usually know what's caused my dogs diarrhea, so once the cause is eliminated I keep him on the mixture for a couple of days.
Make sure you know what's causing the diarrhea. Once the cause of the diarrhea is discovered and taken care of you can slowly start mixing his regular food into the pumpkin/rice mix.
The pumpkin/rice/chicken works wonders for my dog. He had a bout of diarrhea a few weeks ago and with that meal that morning, the diarrhea stopped later that day.

Pepper arrived with an appetite bigger than her 9 pounds. And her poops were always too soft. Not too often or runny, just pudding poops.
We tried boiled rice, pumpkin, probiotics, and (gasp) cutting her food down a little. The solution was Yogurt. Plain, unflavored Greek yogurt with active cultures. Just a teaspoon or two in her food did the trick and slowed her eating too.

Forget either one and the rest of the stuff. Get him to the vet and find the real problem.
