please tell me the effects it has on dogs that are trying to mate every second of every day while she is on heat ?
I have a bitch of 3 years and dog who is around 6 years and i am worried about the strain of them while in mating season they do nothing but try to every minute of every day until it ends , and my bitch is all scratched up and looks so sore , and my dog looks sore but will just keep at it . sometimes she is so stressed out, but he can not get it in and keeps doing (air guitar) if you get my meaning . i wanted her to have one litter with him but i think after trying all these times i feel that i should just get them done now cos it just stress her out please help

Professional breeders do not allow the male and the female together except at the exact time they are ready to mate and then only under close supervision as serious, life threatening injuries can and do occur during unsupervised matings.
This time is determined by progesterone testing.
Probably infection is the major problem, but male dogs have a bone in their penis and it can EASILY be broken during unsupervised breeding. If that happens, it requires surgery and is extremely difficult to heal. There are also many instances where the male or female has gotten so worked up they have attacked the other dog and, sadly, many deaths have resulted, not to mention the hundreds of bites which lead to infections and serious illnesses.
If you have not researched correct breeding techniques, you really should be leaving breeding to the professionals and get them neutered.
I can't imagine how stressful this is for both your male AND your female!
