our mini cries & cries when he goes to be boarded; last time he tore his nail trying to get out; what can we do?
Evidently this is separation anxiety w/Bud; he is so very joyful when I come to get him; & I know the Vet's office is taking good care of him; but he wails when he is left.

Could you ask a friend or relative to watch him while you're gone? Perhaps going to a home that he's more used to and spending time with people he knows and likes, he would be more comfortable while you are gone. An alternative to this is to schedule a pet-friendly trip. There are a surprising number of accommodations that welcome pets, particularly small ones. Best of luck!
