Our dog, MOJO, is a Golden-Doodle, he is 8 months old and is teething. Recently I had to return to work leaving MOJO home all day until my husband, son and I get home. He has been chewing his rear ankle and has chewed the hair away. He doesn't seem to be in any pain but by the way he chews on it from time to time it appears that it itches really bad. Any ideas?

It sounds like Hot Spots. You can try some Sulfadene from Walmart, in the pet dept. It a yellow liquid.
If that doesn't make it go away, then I would take him to the vet. Good Luck!

Sounds more like a lick granuloma to me. These tend to result from boredoom in active breeds that are not getting enough mental and/or physical stimulation.
Both poodles and goldens are active dogs who require lots of exercise and activity, especially when they are young.
Lick granulomas are extremely difficult to control. Not only do you need to cure the spot, but you also need to provide changes in the dogs routine to keep his mind and his body active.
Basically, they are a form of self-mutilation where the dog begins chewing an area for something to do... the more it chews the more the area bothers him FROM the chewing and therefore he continues to lick and chew.
I have seen severe cases where the dog ultimately had to have the leg amputated.
First of all, I would suggest a vet visit to help get the area healed, then I would up his exercise and mental stimulation by increasing exercise and leaving him with bones and toys.
I would also look into daycare or a dogwalker if poss
