There is no certain time that a Foster Dog will leave it's Foster Home. It depends on when they get adopted.

Well that's a loaded question! BOL!!!
If you check out my family from way back, Truffle, Woofie, Candy, Snickers, Pepper, Pamela, Sonny.
Woofie was my first foster dog - and "failure". She was with me for 11 years. Pamela was successfully placed last year and is very happy with her new family.

Recently we took in a troubled 9 month old puppy, Sonny. Happily he has turned out to be a keeper!

Most rescues work hard to place healthy well adjusted dogs in less than 2 weeks. Not all are perfect and foster "parents" pitch in to train or take dog to the Vet (Rescue should pay expenses). The outside for a good dog is 5 or 6 weeks.

Just an aside...My sons and I found the experience wonderful with both Pamela and now with Sonny. Good luck.

Hi I am so glad that you are interested in fostering dogs. I have fostered a few myself. There is no specific amount of time that a dog will stay with you my dogs range from one week until 12 years :) It also may depend on why you are fostering the dog. It could be waiting adoption from the pet shelter, someone that simply needs a break from their dog at home, a stray that you found, etc the list could go on. I wish you the best of luck.

There's really no set amount of days that a dog spends in foster. It could be as little as 1 day or could be several months. It depends on how desirable/adoptable the dog is. The dog may also just be in foster to recover from any medical procedures such as surgery or heartworm treatment.
