Howard is not an expert on dog breeds. Just because a breed isn't seen does not mean it isn't there.
Ace, the biggest thing that I see that is not in line with the catahoula breed are your ears! Houlas more often have floppy ears.
However, you actually do look like a purebred I've seen before, but I can't put my finger on what the breed is!

I don't know much about Catahoulas, but I do know that vets in general are not experts when it comes to indentifying dog breeds. They may or may not know the breed's standard and a little bit about the breed, but they often don't know much else.
For example, most people don't seem to know that there is actually a variety of short-haired Collie, called the smooth-coated Collie. Same breed as the rough-coated Collie, different variety. I certainly didn't know that until I began researching the breed.

He is not purebred Catahoula.
Ace: Akita/German Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog mix.
He does not have any Catahoula in him, I don't see any.

I don't see catahoula, just like Bam Bam said mainly in your ears, they normaly have floppy hound like ears. Your fur looks like it is brindle in the pictures, houlas have mostly a merle pattern that is totaly different. You look like you mainly have chow chow in you. That would explain the curled tail, pointly ears, block head, body shape. So my best guess would be half chow. Mixed with something that has brindling maybe a pit, staffie, boxer and that second have is probably mixed with something else.
You almsot look like Bandit but he is black with a straight tale. :)
