My shiba has always been good with other dogs up until this past year.
He's very affectionate with me and my sister but can be stand-offish w/strangers. He has always loved to meet new dogs; but a few months ago, he freaked out at the dog park. There were a lot of dogs there, so I kept him on the leash and he was fine at first, then about 5-10 min. in I saw his neck hair raising and him tensing- next thing I know, he started snapping at other dogs and even instigated/was extra aggressive towards the couple huskies. I tried calming him down by keeping him with me and helping him make nice with some dogs that would come up to us, but he was not having it. I ended up hauling him out of there. In the past, I have boarded him but now I'm afraid to. Since then he's done great one on one with my friend's dogs- I'm wondering if it may be w/bigger or potentially bigger dogs than him that there's a problem? When we walk through my neighborhood, there some aggressive dogs that he exhibits the same warning signs with... Any tips or help would be super appreciated!!

I mean this in a good way just don't do dogparks. Unfortunely they sound great for us but the easy and lazy thing of us going there and just turning them loose sets our dogs up for problems and them being hurt.
A dog park is a stressful place for dogs. I don't know I hear bad things happen all the time and I just couldn't see going to one.
We go to a place for Bridget they are all nice dogs they can't come in if they are aggressive.
So all the dogs are great.
I would shy away from the park and work on just walking or hiking. Maybe the dog would like to do frisbee? there is classes out there to teach frisbee and competitions they keep the dogs on leash and then individual dogs are allowed to take their turns they work up to levels in the classes.

Your dog is feeling threatened by other dogs. To prevent this every day a different dog should visit your dog and the owner should bring a treat or toy for your dog this will give him a possitive idea about other dogs.
