My puppy is barking at family!!!

My puppy is 8 months old. When he was only a few months old he started to exhibit aggressive behavior and a dependence on me. I was told to socialize him and he was a lot better until just recently. He has started barking at family members when they walk into the room. These are people he sees every day and who he plays with. Its weird because he acts like he doesnt recognize them and it takes several minutes to calm him down. There has not been any changes that would cause him to be stressed. Whats going on???

A sudden, strange change in personality or behavior is often a symptom of a health problem. I recommend taking him to the vet.

sounds like he is fearful.
so best thing to do is have him out socializing and also with other dogs. He needs to explore the outside world and get some confidence building exercises. Sounds as though not every one in the house shares chores with the dog such as taking the dog out on leash and regular grooming. Also the other family members should be feeding him as well whether it is his meal or treats. Sounds like the dog may not be spayed or neutered. Around 10 months the dog starts to be highly aware of their surroundings more than as a pup.
