My pup won't stop crying!! Asking this question again because Mosby (12wks) screams/cries when I leave!
Mosby is about 12wks old and we adopted him about two weeks ago. The first couple days he was fine in his kennel, but for about a week and a half he barks/cries every time we leave the house. Sometimes he is even doing it when we get home. I live in a 8-plex apt so this is a BIG issue.
He gets 2 walks a day, I play ball with him, we leave the TV on, he has a Kong w/ PB inside, and a toy that heats up for comfort. I feel like we have tried everything and nothing is working. I ignore his whining, even when he does it if I'm home. Is there anything else that I can do or is this something that just needs time?? It breaks my heart when he cries and I don't want my neighbors to hate him for it! PLEASE HELP!

You need to associate cage/crate with relaxation and fun not punishment.
I suggest trying to work on this over a weekend when you have a few days off in a row.
Take him out for a walk, when you get home play with him. Using a toy toss it in the cage a few times. It lets him know the cage door will not always be closed. You want him to not fear the cage and want to go into it.
After doing that a few times and you notice he is dropping tired place him in the cage with his teddy.
Close the door, walk away. If he cries, should be for a few mins tops. Do not talk or pet him just ignore it. When crying stops,he falls asleep is even better, go open the door.
Do this several times a day. Every time you do dishes etc, crate him. Short stints in the cage only opening the door the moment you have a min or two of quiet. Tell your neighbors in advance, that's always considerate. At night he should also be in the cage. It gets easier and soon he will go in it just to sleep.
