My pitt has an eye that wont open all the way. Could it something in his eye or something worse?

It looks like he is squinting and when I try to open the eye to look at it, it looks like it is rolling down and all I see the the top of the iris and the white part. I cant find a vet that will accept payments and I cant afford to pay for a visit. Would anyone happen to know what it wrong with him? Should I take him to a vet anyways?

If you can get someone strong to hold the dog you can try to flush the eye out but it will be hard.
While they hold him you can open the eye and flush it out for more than 3 minutes would help.
If you see the eye is red then he may already have an eye infection or pink eye.
You can do flex pay or get a credit card.
He really should go to the vet. But, if you think flushing it with warm water can be done I would.
Have someone hold a big dry towel under his chin if you can so the sensation of something running down doesn't make him thrash even more.
I say the vet is the best answer.

You can ask a vet to bill you, which would give you enough time to raise the money from family or friends.

I would take him in immediately, if you can.

It's very hard to tell what is going on with him. It could be something minor like an acute eye infection or he could have a serious injury to his eye.

Dogs have three eyelids, one outer and two inner membranes that come together as the eye rolls back into the head during sleep.

It's possible the eye is irritated enough that it is rolling back involuntarily and that's what you're seeing.

But really, it's impossible for anyone here to tell.

I'd take him in right away to stop any pain he's in and also to avoid the risk of blindness.

Good luck, I hope you'll come back and let us know how he's doing!!!
