My friend neglects her dogs, I am going to call animal control. But I have another question.
Thanks for everyone who answered my last question. You were all very helpful, and I am very grateful. I have decided to call animal control, and now I seriously do not care about the friendship between my friend and I anymore. Lately he/she has been very ignorant and oblivious to her dog's pain, and calls herself a dog-lover because I am and she owns two dogs. But now I have another question. I want to help these dogs, right? Well, I know that the older dog will be euthanized if the animal control take her (health, behavior). But younger dog still has a chance. Even though he is so misbehaved, and has attacked me various times and left me bleeding or limping, should I take him? He only behaves this way because no one has told him that it is wrong and what to do instead. I do want to "adopt" him if animal control takes him. But I'm not so sure if the rest of the household would agree. Do you think it's a good idea to take the pup in...if so, what should I tell the rest of the household?

I personally think it would be good to take the dog. If he acts this way nobody will want to adopt him and he as well will be euthanized. Because you already know this dogs circumstances and why he acts the way he does it would be a little easier for you to change his temprament. He only acts that was because he is neglected and not well taken care of or loved. He obviously has had no discipline. So i would say yes take him! And if you do good luck im sure youll do fine :-)

I don't think you should adopt the dog if the rest of your household is not in agreement. Bringing a new family member home, especially one with problems that will be affecting everyone in your home, needs to be a family decision. It's not fair to put other family members in a difficult or even dangerous situation without their approval.

First of all, good for you for standing up for animals that have no voice.
Secondly, why would the older dog be euthanized? What are the health and behavioral problems? Most times a loving environment can offset putting a dog down. How old is the pup and how much abuse and neglect has he suffered. I believe that any dog, with a good, caring person can live a great life and leave behind the problems of the past. You have to realize you need to totally commit yourself early on to obedience training and such to make things work. If you have doubts, you should reconsider.
If it is what you want and you commit you can make it happen and have a dog that will love you for saving its life. If it is not the right time for you to do this, have the dogs placed in a no kill shelter and somebody else will come along. I truly believe the quote by GHANDI
"the greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated" just replace nation with you!
