My dogs obsessed with food?

As in more than normal, she'll sit in the kitchen ALL DAY, every single minute, and wait for us to give her something even though we don't give her any of our food, we usually give her dog food, but that's set out in the living room. It's not like she's starving we always have some dog food out for her and our other dog. It's a recent thing too shes always loved food but shes never been obsessed. It's all she does, she'll come fetch one of us out of our room and lead us to the kitchen, start whining while infront of the kitchen counter... I'm worried, it's not normal.
shes about 2-3 years old now.

I would take her to the vet. That could mean something is wrong. Good Luck and please keep us posted.

She could be hypothyroid, a simple test army the vet can rule this out. What kind of food are u feeding? Maybe she needs a dog food with more meat. Many commercial dog foods are mostly fillers. U can look at www.dogfoodadvisor.com and find a food. On this site they are rated on a stars system. Only feed a 4 or 5 star food. If u switch foods, do it slowly mixing the new and old together for a week to prevent stomach upset.

SNEAKERS

Start giving her more personal time, Lap time, petting, giving treats first. She's trying to get you to recognize/support her status in your Pack.

Make sure to observe a meal schedule for your dog. Are you feeding your dog with table food? Please refrain from doing so as it is unhealthy for your dog.

Tasha (in memory)

There might be a rodent behind the kitchen counter that she's smelling, or in the wall. Dogs have an incredible sense of smell. Are you positive that what she wants is food? Check inside the cabinets to be sure. It sounds like she's trying to tell you something ^_^

Shasta

Very difficult to pinpoint the problem. There could be something new that she's smelling, and she's simply trying to say "hey! Something is wrong!!!"

She could have some sort of health problem and may need a more filling, wholesome food.

She could be simply lacking proper stimulation also... Try making time for a daily pack-walk (teach her to walk on a loose leash either at your side or behind you a bit...her mission is to follow you. No sniffing, marking, pulling, barking, etc.) when you do it properly, it will keep her calm and exhaust her mind (because mental exercise is actually more important than physical running)
Exercise is (mental AND physical), believe it or not, the solution to virtually every weird behavior problem

My boys go nuts when they see their food bin, or smell food too...

As long as you can stay in control by having here ignore the food when you ask her, I doubt it's a huge issue.

Best wishes!

Otis - Dachhund mix

My dog is a little like that - he's 9 years old 'though and I think maybe he has a bit of dementia and has forgotten that he did have his dinner. With a 2-3 year old dog, perhaps he could have his dried food dinner in one of those kongs that he can roll about and work at getting his dinner - or perhaps he needs a little more nutrient in his food.
