My dog wont stop rubbing her face on the ground, what do I do?

Everyday my dog rubs her face on the ground. I thought it was just an itch but she does it so much that she's getting a raw bald spot on her muzzle. I checked her ears and eyes and they look normal. I gave her a bath and that didn't work, I even tried a flea collar. Nothing works. What do I do?

take her to the vet. Or should could possibly be allergic to the food your feeding her. But i would take her to the vet first.

Allergies. Try Benadryl (0.5-1 mg active ingredient per pound of body weight) and if that stops the itching I wouldn't worry too much. Not a lot your vet will do besides that for mild allergies.

Causes:

Grain or protein allergy: Switch to a limited ingredient or grain free dog food. If you feed a common protein based kibble like chicken or beef, try something a little more exotic like duck, seafood or bison.

Pollen/Environmental: Is pollen count in your area high? You can check on weather.com. If pollen is high, I suggest wiping your dog down with a damp cloth after coming in from outside. Also be mindful of fabric softener, carpet fresheners and inspect your dog's bowls to make sure there's no deep scratching or wearing away of the plating.

Has your dog recently had pups? Our dog did this and she had low calcium! She almost died. We had to take her to the vet and they had to give her shots of calcium. She had pups 2 weeks before. If she hasn't had pups maybe it could still be a calcium deficiency. This sounds exactly like what our Bambi did. She would rub her nose on the floor along with her whole body. Always nose first. I hope this helps you. Good Luck, Kristie

You can try using PETfection Deodorizer/Allergy Spray. It is 100% Organic, Non Toxic, and is amazing at helping with allergies, itchy spots, dry skin, etc. You can spray it directly onto her face, just cover her eyes while spraying. Or you can put it on a cotton ball or towel and wipe her face. It should help stop the itching and help heal up that bald spot! Check it out at www.myPETfection.com. I think this product is wonderful. Hope this helps!
