My dog shakes and whines every time we get ready to go for a walk...WHY????
We make him lye down when he starts to get anxious but he still shakes and ours and our kids' shoes on. We work on our training with him constantly and I'm pretty schooled in most dog issues but this is something I am totally lost on. Even if hes been running around all day and he's dog-tired...he will still whine and shake before going for the walk. Even when it it just me and him and I am calm as can be hoping he will mirror my calmness, he still has the same old behavior. Its driving us mad!!!!! SOS!!!TIA!!!

It's not anxiety your dog is showing, it's excitement and anicipation! Hey, going for a walk is FUN and dogs often shake, quiver, bark, whine, whimper or even do a weird yodeling thing when they get excited.
Basically, he recognizes certain behavior, body language or things like his leash or a key word like walk or the jingling of keys. Most dogs get excited and perked up when their humans put their shoes on; they learn that this means either you are going out or you are taking them out with you.
I'd not worry about it, nor let it drive you crazy. He's just excited. If he's still young, he might mellow out a bit, but just look on it as ancipatory excitement and laugh it off. It's not any big deal.
He's adorable, by the way.

I know that smaller dogs tend to shake excessively for lots of different reasons -when their excited, scared, when they want something, & if they haven't had a chance to run around quite enough
My pup, Gracie, is a chorkie (chihuahua/ yorkie mix), 7mo old & well trained. She is actually litter trained so she doesn't need to go out as often in the cold. She isn't an anxious dog & she does seems to like playing outside when we're out there...but we have a similar issue. I don't know about Moose, but I'm almost positive Grace isn't shaking cause shes excitedecause the second she sees her harness or sweater she shakes, puts her ears back all pathetic, and ducts her head. She likes playing outside though!
So I guess I can't answer your question, but I'm almost certain theres something other than excitement going on...
My dogs do that all the time when it's time for them to go for walk. They are excited.
Just like when Friday comes and we get our paycheck.
Yeah, my dogs are the same way. My GSD jumps up and down on her hind legs when I get the leash out. When we get out my Papillon mix's raw meat (we feed the raw diet at this house), he whimpers, whines, jumps up, and spins. It's just excitement.
So long as he isn't bumping into people, things, etc, it's fine to let him do this.
