My dog looks like a dingo!

here's some pictures of him.. he's 25 lbs.. i've heard a lot of people say that he looks like a dingo.. the breeder we got him from guessed he was a mix between a husky and a jack russell.. seemed a little unlikely, and the only resemblence really is the energy. I read about the Carolino Dog, looks like a dingo as well.. but i saw that they run 10-25 lbs larger than him.. any ideas on breeds he may be?

He sure is cute! Maybe some heeler/cattle dog in him?

Miss Buddie

Your links won't work for me at my office, but I wanted to second the other poster about cattle dogs. Miss Buddie is a cattle dog mix and I did a lot of research on ACD's. They have dingo in their lineage that helped them deal with the extreme Australian climate.

Just a fun fact to consider. :D

Rebel

He looks a little like many breeds. Jack Russell, German Pointer, a little basenji...
you can get a DNA test, but they are rather pricey. He just looks like a sweetie pie most of all!

Zack

He looks a little like Zack, except smaller and built a little differently. I would guess that there is some Australian Cattle Dog/Red Heeler in there, but the others are right - he probably has a lot of different breeds in him.

I don't know for sure what breeds Zack is either - my guesses are Heeler/German Shepherd/Boxer/Lab.

Gray Dawn Treader

To me, he looks like ACD mixed with Jack Russell. And possibly other breeds.

hes deff part dingo. a friend of mine had a pure dingo and i have a part dingo dog and the coloration is the same and the facial structure. so yea its obvious. you need to look up pics online of dingos and see the similarities and read up on them if u havnt already. very pretty.

Gracie

I know this is an older post, but I just want to say "WOW!" Your dog looks so much like mine!!!
I had her DNA tested, and it turns out that she is an ACD. I think she looks an awful lot like a dingo, too. My little girl is a bit larger than 25 lbs, though.
Does your boy have dew claws? Does he bark? If you answered yes to either one of those questions, he's probably not a dingo, rather an ACD.

Gwen

Hi there!
I had the same question.. and I have to say our dogs look very similar.

Everyone keeps telling me that I have a Carolina Dog too, but that is an American Dingo. (So, still a dingo like we said.) And I have to say that no one can disagree with me that our dogs don't look like this one...

Maybe our dingos are related! :)

coyote

Your dog looks like he may be part dingo. He has a lot of the characteristics, but not a purebred. Check out the Carolina Dog sites for more info on this breed.

i would say your dog is 100% Dingo (american). i have one, he is 16 now but looked like yours when he was young.
