My dog Kasey has been acting strange does anyone know why?

Kasey has been acting strange. Has been digging (well trying to) and pawing at my hardwood floors non-stop for 30 minutes. Kasey has also been growling at Night I am guess he does that because he hears something I do not but he growls every night at around the same hour. He started doing these things about 5 days ago. Does anyone know what is wrong? I am a bit worried.

Do you have a basement or just a crawlspace? If you have just a crawlspace, is it possible an animal got in, like a raccoon or something, and Kasey can smell/hear it?
