I wonder if she is mad that we are leaving, she is a 1.5 yr old Shellie. She is getting worse as she gets older.

I would crate train her so she can't rip up your stuff. Make sure she gets LOTS of exercise so she is tired when you leave. Leave something delicious like a bully stick or a frozen stuffed kong in the crate with her so she has something to do when she isn't sleeping. Little bit by little bit desensitize her to your coming and going. Don't make a big fuss going in and out. Google separation anxiety and check out the behavior and training forum on here for more ideas.
