My dog Hates the new puppy?!
We have had 2 dogs for 5 years now , a collie and a terrier. We got a golden retriever puppy almost two months ago. The terrier (who we got before the collie)loves the puppy, they play together all the time but the collie growls at the puppy whenever he goes near, and barks at him. He has even snapped a few times. the ppuppy keeps giving the collie kisses, trying to make friends but the collie just runs away. HELP!

We went through the same exact thing with Koby. Then we realized, Jax doesn't hate him, she's just the disciplinarian. Kali is the "all fun in games". If Jax wanted to hurt him, she would have. He needed to learn boundaries, which is what Jax teaches him. She will occasionally play with him, but it is for short sessions. Jax snaps and growls, but never hurts him and he respects that. I think it's a good thing. We do supervise him when he tries to annoy Jax. She is older and I don't want him to overwhelm her. Good Luck!

It might be jelousy. The collie was used to being the center of attention and after five years he was good and he was after the terrier so he thought he was the alpha dog and the puppy was new. Pack insticts? Try putting their crates next to each other.
