I know absolutely nothing about having puppies... but I have read that it is normal & nothing to be alarmed about. Not sure what it's called/why it happens.... Google is always a good last resort ;)

I'm not experienced with this, but from what I do know it may be the placenta.
And there are a couple of people on here who are experienced at this...
HOWEVER, the best option in this case would be to call your vet, because if something goes wrong with this kind of thing, you NEED help and advice ASAP.
Online, a speedy answer is not always possible.
