my dog (6 mos old) pees every 20 minutes inside or outside, if she's not in her crate. if crated will hold up to 8 hrs.

no, it's not good for puppies to be stuck in a crate that long. have a pet sitter come by or a friend, neighbor or relative come and walk the pup 2x a day at least for about 20 minutes min. I usually have a med to large kennel off the back door and leave the dog dog open if you are able to do that in the summer.

It is normal for a young dog to pee frequently, throughout the crate time it is good that she will hold it however try letting her out in between the 8 hours, 4 hours in a crate is typically okay- depending on the breed, size and other factors. Try to take her out as frequently as possible to avoid accidents. Do not rub her face in it if she goes inside; but if you catch her going simply pick her up and bring her outside. treat immediately after going potty outside.
