Well, you just need to figure out what he is allergic to. Steroids only temporarily help the symptoms, not the cause, and long term use can be dangerous.

It could be his food, or any chemicals in the house (laudry detergent or fabric softener that you use on his blankets or bed, maybe something you use on the floor, etc).

Dogs' paws are their allergy spots. Try Cadidae Chicken and Rice food - one meat better for sensitive dogs. Also, my last one did well on Premium Edge Salmon, fish oil caps and Nutro supplement. Canidae wasn't available here at that time. Sasha had raw paws and forelegs and that regimin took care of it. She was Texas Heeler - I'm not sure it's just a Dally problem. Good luck. They are so miserable it makes us feel badly.

I agree with Sophie. Are you feeding your dog a food with corn or cornmeal in it? If so it could be the source of the allergies. I would try switching to a high quality food with no corn and as few ingredients as possible. Chicken and rice or Lamb and rice would be your best bet. I am a fan of Canidae products as well...

Kodie

I agree with the others I say allergies for sure!

Kodie many and I can tell you chicken is one thing he can't have, I feed him L/R he is ok with it but believe me get it worked out it can lead to alot of problems.

I rescued Kodie last Dec, he could no longer stand up for very long, he was deaf and was in pain, Kodie has no ear canal it was full of masses. Shortly after coming home ( 2 weeks) Kodie has surgery to remove masses, it was from a untreated ear infection due to allergies.

It's been a long road but we are getting there, Kodie today can hear in both ears, stand and play like he is a pup sad thing is he suffered alot because he was not given the Vet he needed.

Please try to get to the bottom of this, but again it is food allergies IMO
