My chihuahua is a mix of another breed but we can't quite figure out what. He is marked like a german shepherd, any idea?
We know that he can't possibly be a mix of german shepherd...I read that could pose possible health issues because of size of breeds, etc, but I might be wrong. Just wondering if he's a chihuahua mix - like in the question he is marked like a german shepherd, but he has characteristics of a chihuahua. Any info would be great, thanks!!

More information on his size, weight and more pictures would help to see if he looks like a mix or not. From the one picture, I can only say he looks purebred.
Chihuahuas come in many colors and markings. Chi's have 2 coat types, long and smooth. Chi's also have 2 head types. "Apple" headed chi's have a more domed forehead and are considered the breed standard, but many Chi's have a more normal head.
Chihuahua's have been bred down to only a few pounds, but are not naturally so tiny. Tiny dogs do have health problems, as do dogs with "apple" shaped heads.

growing up I had a toy fox terrier. He was part chichuahua (sp) that wrong.
But, he had cute erect ears like that. He was black and white. I think he had a little brown patch on his cheeks. He lived to be around 17 yrs old. r.i.p Tiny.
I doubt very seriously he is gsd. Not impossible but I just don't see it.
maybe a chi/ rat or chi/terrier.
