My boyfriend and I got 2 dogs that are just over a year old and neither are house trained, is it possible to train them
They are both purebred standard American pittbull terriers.

Yes, it's possible. Start by putting them in a crate.(one crate per dog). Take them out every 1/2 hour to one hour. If they don't go, then put them back in the crate. If they go, they just earned 1/2-1 hour of freedom. After their freedom time, take them out. Again, if they don't go, put them back in the crate. If they go, they just earned anothrr 1/2-1 hour of freedom. Keep repeating this. Since they are older they should catch on quick. They may have a very subtle cue to go out like standing at the door, staring at you, or even a little whine or yip. Limit their freedom to only one room where they can be watched. They also have to earn access to other rooms one at a time. It is very time consuming in the beginning, but if your consistent and patient, it should only take one or two weeks to do. Good luck!

Yes, dogs can be housetrained at any age. Do the same things you would do for a puppy (not going to detail it here, there are loads of other articles about housetraining on the internet, even on Dogster) and be consistent, it should work out. Though honestly, training and supervising two at the same time might be tough. Maybe each of you should "assign" yourself to one of the dogs.
