My beagle wont stop rubbing his head on the floor, why?

He could have an ear infection...Take him to the vet & have him looked at.

Most likely from either ear or eye infection and being itchy/sore. Does sound like a vet trip is needed!

Just like the other dogsters mentioned... a possible ear infection? Also, the eyes could be bothering your beagle, too...

You didn't specify which part of the head your pup is rubbing. I had a german shepherd who had cronic ear infections. He didn't rub his head on the floor, but did scratch at his ear so much he ended up with a hemotoma. My current dog has allergies. Bad. Every spring and fall she rubs her snout on the rugs... sometimes til she bleeds. A quick visit to the vet confirmed that it is allergies and she was prescribed a small dosage of prednisone and takes OTC allergy meds during those seasons.
